We all know fresh meat and veggies would spoil without refrigeration. If a food is all-natural, Mother Nature tells us it’s natural because it will quickly go bad. This is why all Freshpet foods (meals & treats) must be kept in the fridge.

Our healthy, all-natural pet foods are made fresh daily. We maintain their freshness through proper refrigeration. Many dry and canned pet foods extend their shelf life up to two years by adding chemical preservatives. That is not the case with Freshpet. All of our foods have a “Freshest if Used by Date” that is only weeks after being made, not years. Once opened our meals and treats need to be used within a few days up to two weeks, depending on the food type.

Freshpet is real, healthy pet food made from fresh ingredients. So fresh, the only preservative we use is the fridge!
