Happy Holidays! We’re really looking forward to the long weekend, and for some of us, a holiday break through the new year. This can be a great time to enjoy with family and friends, especially with the kids home from school. If you’re like we are, you may be looking for a few DIY activities to do from the comfort of home while sipping on hot cocoa and nibbling cookies. Here are a few fun DIY ideas for the whole family, even your dogs and cats!

Make a holiday ornament for Fluffy & Fido

Add a little homemade flair to your Christmas trees with these great suggestions from Sew Doggy Style. Learn how to make a lovely dog silhouette ornament like the one below.  Even get your pup or kitty in on the action and create a paw-print ornament. The ornaments will be great memories for years to come!

Craft a playful gift for your pets

Give your pets one of these fun, easy DIY gifts that will have your entire family laughing for weeks to come! Martha’s feather cat toys are cute and affordable – make a few in case your mischievous kitty takes some into hiding. Or make a kid-friendly catnip toy with old socks from around the house. Add a bit of personalization to your projects by making a custom pet tag or food bowl. Even craft a bejeweled collar to help your pup or kitty ring in the New Year in style.

Bake pup-friendly cookies

Freshpet Ready to Bake cookies make it easy to pamper your pup with a homemade treat. Throw some in the oven between batches of Christmas cookies or even dress them up with other food items safe for dogs.   We hope you have an enjoyable holiday break with your friends and family! See you in 2013!
