30 Shelter Pets Get a Special Feast for the Holidays

12 Dec 2016 | Written by Freshpet

Update: We met our goal of 10,000 meals! Thank you for everyone who shared our video. We said for every video share we would donate one meal to a shelter pet in need, up to 10,000 meals.

We’re now at 30,000 shares and counting! We didn’t anticipate all your Facebook and YouTube shares. So in the spirit of giving, we will triple our commitment and donate 30,000 meals. We ask that you continue to share to help bring awareness to shelter animals everywhere that need loving homes.

We've been known to take the holidays seriously. Year after year we've brought in the holiday season with hilarious and memorable videos. From "dogs with hands" eating a holiday feast at the table, to Santa's Elves. But this year we wanted to do something a little different.   freshpet-soup-kitchen-stills_1-56-1 freshpet-soup-kitchen-stills_1-53-1   While we’re proud to have donated over 2,800,000 meals to date, we wanted to have a special donation event that not only showers homeless pets with love, but brings awareness to the wonderful pets everywhere who still need homes this holiday. In the spirit of giving, we worked with the Utah Humane Society to host a holiday soup kitchen for 30+ dogs and cats to give them the best holiday ever before they find their forever homes.     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KBtIE2Ugj8

Want to see how we pulled off the event? Watch our behind-the-scenes!

In your video you had a brown long or medium hair chewawaw. Not sure how to spell that. But I would really like some info on it

Thank you for sponsoring this event and for sharing food with shelters and needy dogs. My little rescue/adopted guy just loves FRESHPET, he dances excitedly when he sees me get the roll out of the frig! Thanks again for giving back, it makes me happy to be your customer. Sincerely, Deborah Whitman and Scotty

My daughter''s dog is a rescue. He was very shy and eager to bite, having been abused before we got him. we all love him and he loves us now. Thanks to finding Freshpet dog food, he now cleans his plate and is healthy. Thank you, Freshpet!

What a heart filled thing to do. Fur babies need love too. Keep up the good work. My son lost his dog of 9 yrs 3 wks ago And lo and behold another one came into his life this week from a rescue...It doesn't replace the 1st one. But the heart knows when its time to love again.

Thank you so much for your product. My Pekingese is 13 and was not eating well at all and would barely walk around the house now after eating your grain free chicken recipe he is now walking again. So thanks so much for making my dog active again?
