Did you know that leafy greens like spinach are just as good for our pets as they are for us?
Spinach is a good source of fiber, calcium and potassium as well as vitamins A, K, D, and E. It's high in iron which is vital for muscle health for pets of all ages. Spinach also contains flavonoids and carotenoids, which have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Carotenoids in spinach also protect against eye diseases such as cataracts which some dog breeds are prone to. All of these attributes were great reasons for us to introduce spinach into our recipes. In our cat recipes, we use
spinach at very low levels to avoid the issues that can be caused by high oxalate levels.

We're happy to say that a lot of our Freshpet recipes include spinach, so you can easily find one your dog or cat will enjoy while reaping the benefits of this superfood.
