Your Pet Could Win One Year of Free Freshpet Food In Our "Fresh In Show" Sweepstakes!

11 Jun 2021 | Written by Freshpet

During a week where the world is focused on perfect standards for dogs at the largest dog show in the country, Freshpet wants to shine a spotlight on the pets that don’t come with a pedigree, but who make their way into our homes via shelters.

We're calling all pet parents to share your fresh-faced shelter and rescue dogs and cats to highlight the love these pets bring to families. One grand prize "Fresh In Show" winner will be featured as part of the contest on Freshpet’s social channels and will receive year's supply of Freshpet food! Ten runners-up will also each receive a three month’s supply of Freshpet food.

To participate, simply follow @Freshpet on Instagram and post a picture of your shelter pet. Then tag @Freshpet and use the hashtag #FreshInShow. We encourage you to share your pet’s name and the name of the shelter or rescue where it was adopted from, so we can also help promote shelters across the U.S. All entries must be submitted by June 30, and winners will be selected at random & notified via Instagram Direct Message on or after July 6. Multiple entries are encouraged, but not required to be eligible to win. No purchase necessary to participate.

“Fresh in Show” is another opportunity for us to do something very near to our heart: highlighting the need shelters face and our desire to encourage pet adoption, particularly from no-kill shelters. The new campaign is just another page in our long history of supporting shelters across the country, including our annual Fresh Start initiative. We're proud to say we've donated nearly 11 million meals to pets in need since 2007, with more than 500,000 meals just this year.

Padgett and Tinkerbell are 12 years old with many health issues, but we didn’t care. We adopted them from Heartlands Small Animal Rescue out of Mishawaka, Indiana and haven’t regretted a second. It took them a Little while to trust us and realize that this was their forever home, but now they are pampered and adored and well taken care of in their senior years and they are loving every minute of it. They both came to us severely underweight and no one will adopt them because of their age and health issues. I tell my husband it’s because they were waiting for us!
