Our Nature's Fresh recipes are made in the USA with locally sourced ingredients, including chicken and turkey that is Animal Welfare Certified by the Global Animal Partnership. All recipes use BPA free packaging.

As Freshpet's first carbon neutral pet food brand, what carbon emissions we can’t eliminate from the production process, we have mitigated with carbon offsets from our partner, Conservation International. Looking towards the future, we are continuously analyzing our carbon footprint to develop a roadmap to true neutrality.

Thoughtfully prepared meals, made of carefully selected and locally sourced ingredients that are GAP certified.

At Freshpet, we strive to do everything we can to ensure a healthy planet for people and their pets. While all recipes are made in our planet friendly land-fill free Kitchens, our commitment to sustainability goes even further with Nature’s Fresh as our first carbon neutral pet food brand.

Nature’s Fresh commitment to using local sourcing whenever possible contributes to:
— Improving the well-being of the communities we operate in
— Maintaining the integrity of labor practices and environmental standards that are consistent with Freshpet’s high standards
— Lowering our carbon footprint by reducing the distance ingredients are transported
— Reducing ingredient damage and waste in transit

Our relationship with the non-profit Global Animal Partnership (G.A.P.) ensures that Nature’s Fresh chicken and turkey are raised without antibiotics and are fed a vegetarian diet with no animal by-products. All G.A.P. certified farms are audited to ensure they meet comprehensive animal welfare standards regarding well-being and safety.

Nature’s Fresh Ocean Whitefish recipes use wild Alaskan Pollock sourced from the icy waters of a Marine Stewardship Council certified fishery. Alaskan Pollock is very sustainable with one of the lowest carbon footprints of any animal protein and is caught with fishing techniques that result in very low by-catch, helping preserve our ocean’s bio-diversity and bio-mass.

Nature’s Fresh packaging is designed to keep the product fresh and nutritious with as little impact on the planet as possible. Working closely with our packaging suppliers, we developed products that require 10x less packaging compared to other wet foods packaged in plastic tubs or cans.
Unlike some canned wet foods, Nature’s Fresh packaging is BPA free ensuring that your pet is not ingesting this chemical on a daily basis. BPA stands for bisphenol A- a known endocrine disruptor in humans. Many human food packages are eliminating it, and we believe it should not be used in pet food packaging either.

On going efforts have improved the efficiency of our refrigerators up to 8.5x compared to older models. In fact, our latest full-size models consume less energy than two 75 watt light bulbs, and use climate friendly R-290 refrigerant which doesn’t deplete the ozone layer.

In a major commitment to improving the sustainability of our distribution network, all Freshpet refrigerators are powered by US wind energy using Renewable Energy Credits (RECs). Matching our estimated electric usage with RECs helps support the development of sustainable energy and a lower carbon power grid.

*Freshpet matches all purchased electricity for our Kitchens with Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) from US based wind farms.

I have an elderly dog that is deaf. I thought she just was not liking her dry food I was feeding her. Plus I noticed her hair was falling out. She looked like she was getting very sick. I switched her food brands numerous times and she still looked like she was going down hill fast. I saw the fridge at the grocery store I shop at and thought I would try her on that. Her eyes began to sparkle again and her coat began to grow back after a few weeks. She began barking at breakfast and dinner times again as she use to. She is even gaining weight rather than losing as she was on the dry food. I am very grateful to have found the fridge at the grocery store. I now buy 2 of the large tubes so she does not run out before I make it to the store. Love love the product. thanks

Worked wonders!

My dog has loved this from the first time I served it in Late Oct. he was balding and fighting an infection at the time and was losing his appetite. Today he is happy, healthy, and fluffier! The only downside is that it requires refrigeration, and makes it a bit more high maintenance with travel, but totally worth it.
