I have a cat that should be considered a service animal because my dad has a rare neurological disorder that causes him to have extreme episodes of intense head pain... and this cat "Lil Bit" can sense when he is having an episode and will lay on his chest to calm him... they have a strong connection that is a blessing (and humorous because my dad is not a cat person) so imagine our worry when Lil Bit gets sick and has to be rushed to the vet and is put on an extremely exspensive diet... we can't afford what they offer so we start looking for other foods to feed her and we stumble across Freshpet foods... she has almost stopped peeing blood and is acting more like herself... thankfully with coupons we can afford this for her, but let me tell you it is worth the price to keep a priceless cat alive!!!
Ralphie has been receiving insulin shots from me twice a day for 6 years. He is 9 years old now. And on top of all of that he is so picky – it’s been very frustrating. Over the years it’s been really hard maintaining him on the right kind of food. Pretty much any kind of pate you can give a diabetic cat, but he gets bored with them. I introduced him to Freshpet pate, he likes it cut in little cubes. He does a mealtime dance for me. Yes that’s new. Now since he’s a type 1 diabetic, by no means has Freshpet cured his diabetes. But his blood sugar has been stable, the vet wants his blood sugar at 150 or less, it’s now steadily in the 80’s.
