Tri State Basset Hound Rescue has been saving basset hounds and basset hound mixes for over 30 years! What was started by one woman saving a few needy hounds in the state of NJ has grown to team of hundreds of volunteers that has rescued thousands of hounds in need. TSBHR often pulls from other areas where local rescues have limited resources and can not assist with the overpopulation of all the hounds in need. This year TSBHR has spread it's wings WORLDWIDE and to date has rescued 11 dogs from the horrific Chinese meat trades. Tri State Basset Hound Rescue goes above and beyond for all dogs in their care and $10,000 will go a long way in providing veterinary care, food and supplies for the dogs in this foster based organization. Currently there ares 70 dogs in their care, 30 of which are seniors. The photo attached is of Grover, who was looking for a FRESH START from Texas along with Taffy and Oliver, Chinese Meat Trade survivors that traveled all the way from Beijing, China for a FRESH START in America.
Tina is an angel, she goes to the shelters to pull the worst of the worst out to give them a second chance in life. She puts her heart, soul and many sleepless hours into her work. Other rescues reach out to her when they don’t have the resources for proper care, especially of cleft pallet/lip fur babies. She takes them, tube feeds them around the clock brings them up to par and then she finds the best homes for them. Doesn’t matter if they are seniors or newborns. Above is my rescue Spanky, he was born with fading puppy syndrome, all his litter mates did not make it, but Tina gave it her all to save him and look at him today! He is thriving. Midwest Dachshund Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) all-volunteer foster based organization that was founded in 2003. It primarily serves Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana. We serve other Midwest states as needed. MWDR is totally committed to shelter and medical care for stray, abandoned and owner surrendered dachshunds and dachshund mixes, the overall goal is to find suitable homes for these dachshunds. Our organization actively participates in encouraging spay and neutering to help control the population of unwanted animals dogs. MWDR actively promotes animal welfare through education. We take in mostly senior and/or medically needy dachshunds and on average annually we take in 150-200 dachshunds. We have a program called Forever Fosters. This program allows elderly or hospice dogs to live out their remaining life with a loving family. MWDR continues to provide for all of their vetting care and anything that is needed to care for them. If we win, the funds would be used to continue to take more needy dogs into our Forever Foster program.
