Salvation Animal Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue out of Lufkin, Texas founded in 2016. They go above and beyond to help out their community and are continuously finding ways to make a difference. They are known for taking in the animals that would otherwise be euthanized due to the extend of their injuries or due to the fact that their families couldn't afford to cover the vetting. They are known for saying "YES" to the challenge of giving these animals a fighting chance. Thus giving these animals a new leash on life and a second chance to have a happy furever home. Salvation Animal Rescue is also known for their community service programs. They realized that they couldn't save all of the animals in the shelters but they could help to keep them from going there. Three years ago they started a low cost spay and neuter voucher program called S.N.I.P.S. (Spay/Neuter is a Positive Solution). Regardless of income residents of their county only pay $25 to spay/neuter their pets. The rescue covers the rest. To date they have paid for over 300 dogs and cats to be spay/neutered. This past year they also started Doug's Hug Food Pantry that has paired up with meals on wheels to help feed the low income and disabled Senior Citizens pets. They are currently feeding over 100 pets. These funds would help them continue their mission of not only saving animals but also making their community a better place to live.
