STAT is a totally volunteer group of hard-working people dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals in Madison County, Tennessee. The organization not only pulls rescues from the local Jackson Rabies Control, but also accepts owner surrenders (often litters of puppies or older dogs who become sanctuary dogs and live out the rest of their lives with fosters) and strays. Besides the volunteer board, the organization is completely foster-based, so all dogs are in homes where they can receive training and assessment before going to their forever homes. Great care is taken before adoptions are approved to be sure dogs are matched with the correct owner. Since STAT takes owner surrenders and strays, the dogs are often in need of medical treatment besides the usual shots, vaccinations, and spay/neuter. As their mission statement indicates, this group truly is "Working towards a better West Tennessee for dogs through rescue, outreach, and spay/neuter assistance." Winning this would make all the difference for this wonderful rescue. Thanks for your support of rescues!
