  • Noticeable changes in one week!

    Sep 24, 2017 by R

Our cat used to throw up a few times a week no matter what vet-recommended solution we tried. After switching to this food, our 7 year old cat hasn’t thrown up after meal time, and has been much more active, alert, and playful. Her coat is softer and shinier too. I’ve recommended this food to all cat owners I know!

    My pet is an adult

  • Pleases the whole family!

    Sep 06, 2017 by Amanda

We searched and searched for a quality wet food that all three of our babies would enjoy after our male cat developed struvite stones. We have a male 7 year old part 16lb short hair, a female 7 year old 12lb long hair, and a 16 year old 5lb female calico. Our 16 year old came home with us this year after my father passed with poor eyesight, borderline diabetes, and terrible arthritis (and ate Blue Buffalo her whole life!). Our 2 younger babies had been on high quality grain free dry food their whole lives until our vet bullied us into feeding Hills Prescription Diet (not available in grain free). This change caused terrible belly upsets, and after much research and a viewing of the Netflix documentary “Pet Fooled,” we tried for weeks to make the switch to raw food. Thank God for Freshpet Vital Grain Free Chicken and Beef pate! All three of our darlings took to this food instantly, and all health issues have been either eliminated or alleviated. Our 16 year old literally gallops down the stairs to the fridge when it’s being opened for dinner time, and about 7 months ago, she couldn’t even take one stair without clearly being in pain. I do have a rather large complaint about this food, but it isn’t with the manufacturer, it is with the retailers. I have have to through away over $50 of this product due to it being spoiled/my cats not eating it, and I believe 100% that this is due to it not being stored properly. Unfortunately our local PetCo has a refrigerator with a pull-down plastic door, and 9 times out of 10, the door is left wide open when I shop there, and the temperature gauge reads 45 degrees Fahrenheit. This is obviously not a safe temperature for meat without preservatives. The local PetSmart has a much better fridge (and a higher price than PetCo). As long as the date on the tube is good and the vacuum seal on the tube is in tact, the kids will eat. I have noticed great variation with color of the meat of the tubes I’ve had to throw out, and even with good tubes the less pink the meat, the more picky my babies become. I’m glad they intuitively know when to not eat the food if it is not safe, but I do wish the stores would take better care of the product. This isn’t a cheap product, especially to feed three cats daily, and it isn’t cheap to be opening and just throwing away. I would love to see a home delivery option sent straight here on dry ice from the manufacturer.

  • Sphynx

    Sep 04, 2017 by Jarrod

I have two sphynx(hairless) cats. Both have had diarrhea for over a year. To the point I would have to bathe them daily because they had feces on them. I have spent hundreds of dollars on different foods and stool testing. I finally switched both to grain free chicken and beef recipe and within 2 days the diarrhea resolved.

  • Added quality years to our beloved Hank.

    Jun 23, 2017 by Hank

We first rescued Hank, our beautiful Russian Blue, in 1993. He’s always had a sensitive stomach, suffering anal leakage with cat foods containing unnecessary fillers. Iam’ s had always been his food, catering to his urinary track health. As Hank got older we noticed he wasn’t getting enough protein and hydration. I’d always stuck to dry cat food for dental health, but after some research I decided to give Fresh Pet a try. I like it’s ingredients, the moisture and protein content, and most of all, it doesn’t stink like other moist cat foods. Another plus, since there isn’t a bunch of filler, there was less cat waste to clean up. Hank passed away this January, 2017. I credit his healthy, happy long life and remaining years to Fresh Pet. I can’t thank you enough for giving us that extra time with our beloved family member.

  • Senior Cats

Mar 24, 2017 by Duke and Earl

My 2 male senior cats love this food. They’ve grown finicky of their previous canned food and were losing weight in the process. I’ve tried other foods to no avail; they turn their nose up to every other food. I’m thankful I found this. They love it so far, even beg for feeding time. There is never any wasted food at meal time as they clean their plates right up. I can’t say enough so far, I’m just ecstatic that they’re finally eating.

  • My cat is in love with this food!

    Feb 10, 2017 by mpoli

My cat Maddie is very finicky and has a sensitive stomach. She LOVES the Freshpet grain-free chicken and beef! Her diarrhea is gone and her activity level has greatly increased. She is acting like a kitten, even though she is going to be 12 years old in April. Many thanks to Freshpet!!!

This recipe is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages.

Depending on the age, activity level, and condition of your cat, the feeding guidelines will need to be adjusted. The normal daily feeding amount for a healthy adult cat:

Cat’s Weight Amount to Feed Per Day
5-10 lbs 1/4 – 3/8 lbs
11-15 lbs 3/8 – 1/2 lbs

For pregnant or lactating females, offer two to three times the normal amount of food. For kittens, feed up to twice the normal adult requirement from two to fourteen months of age in three to four feedings.

The above quantities can be fed as one meal or divided into two meals based on your cat’s preference. Please adjust the amount you serve to ensure your cat finishes the food within three hours.

If any food remains, please discard and clean bowl before serving new food. When switching foods, gradually increase the new food and decrease the previous food to help make a smooth transition.

Keep refrigerated. Use within 7 days of opening.
